Hurry, Hurry, Hurry!!

Fall is in the air and that means it is time for the Affair with the Chocolate Extravaganza! The event will be at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday, November 7 and Sunday, November 8, 2009.  For more information visit  www.theaffairmpls.com for more details.

The Pastry Professionals Association (PPA) sponsors an annual competition that rates entries against industry standards.  Students and Professionals compete for gold, silver, bronze medals, and certificates in five categories.  This year the PPA is also including People’s Choice Awards for each category.  The public will have an opportunity to vote on their favorite entry for each category by placing pennies or other change in containers next to each entry.  The money collected will be counted to determine the winner for each category.  All proceeds will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.


This will be your chance to display your creation in this year`s competition in the following categories:  This year’s theme is Animals!

If you are a pastry chef or a student enrolled in a culinary school and would like to compete, please read the rules and regulations located on the Pastry Professionals website  www.pastryprofessionalsmn.com, complete an entry form and send it in.

But hurry!  If your registration is postmarked by October 15th, the entry fee is one flat fee of $15.00, no matter how many categories you enter. Entries after October 15th will require a $20.00 entry fee.

This year is going to be fantastic! There will be live demonstrations throughout the event, delicious and unique holiday gifts, fabulous prizes in the raffle, a chocolate fashion show and so much more. Tell your friend and family and make a day out.
